MICHEL STRUELENS
Michel Struelens, Belgian born, died on Sunday, October 5, 2014 of McLean, VA. Professor Emeritus American University, DC. Husband of Godelieve De Wilde Struelens; father of Alain (Holly), Patricia (Guy), Brigitte (Jean-Luc), Bernard, and the late Jean-Paul. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1020 Springvale Rd., Great Falls, VA 22066 on Friday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m. with a reception immediately following in the church hall. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Siena or to St. Louis French Parish, 4125 Garrison St., NW, Washington, DC 20016.

First, warmest regards to the family with thanks for the many happy memories you all generated over some 6 decades. You were patients first , then through your neighbor, my medical school class mate Tom Tusing, invited me to tennis across the street. And then it was like having another brother.
What more can I say except a million hugs to each of you and especially Godelivre.

The years have nnot dimmed my wonderful memories of my dear friend and his family including Kiki's french only sister. From Kiki's parties and our not so famous tennis, Jan's {RIP} and my lives were greatly enriched. I believe Michelle and Jean Paul are having a beer on this date

Dear Struelens family,
Prof Struelens was the best professor I ever had -- the only one who worried about teaching his students things they could use in their daily lives as people and professionals. He inspired me throughout our few years of collaboration and was an amazing mentor and guide. I will always keep him in my heart and thoughts.

Dear Keekee and Patsy and family,
I was so sad to see the sign today at GFAL about Michel's passing away. My Dad (Jim) and I always enjoyed his smile as we passed in the halls. He and Keekee were always smiling and happy. We will miss him.You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Keekee, Patsy, Guy and family,
We were so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband,father and grand father on Sunday. All of you will be in our prayers during this time of mourning. We will especially remember all of you on Friday. I only met Michel once, your mom many times, but he was funny as I recall and fun to be around. I know you will all miss him, but you have wonderful memories.
