Died June 8, 2018 at Emmanuel Care Center in Ellicott City, Maryland. His viewing was held at St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church in Olney, Maryland, on June 11, 2018. His burial services were held on June 12, 2018, followed by interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Mr. Kim was born on September 29, 1941, in Korea. He graduated from Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea. He married Ok Son Park on April 7, 1973. Mr. Kim immigrated to the United States in 1974, where he settled in Maryland on April 12, 1974, the same date his eldest daughter was born. Mr. Kim worked at the Washington Post as a machinist for over 30 years. He took great pride in working for the Washington Post, as he believed deeply in the freedom of press and its important to democracy.
Mr. Kim is survived by his wife; two daughters, Peggy and Debbie; son-in-law, Andrew; and loving granddaughter, SunHi.
