Mr. & Mrs. Green, Erin, Vivian, Gabriela, Javier and Emilia. I am so sorry to hear of Shane's passing. I have many fond memories of Shane and his family while growing up in Jacksonville - (Mrs. Green always had swiss cake rolls in the house.) I do remember a time many years ago Shane told me with his usual humility that he wanted to be a big fish in a big pond - he did just that! I am so sorry for your loss and wish you all peace and comfort during this very difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Shane's family. He was such an incredible and unique individual. I don't think I ever met someone who drank so fully from the cup of life each day. He was determined to make his mark and experience a rich and exciting life. He did. He also had such a fun, mischievous side. I remember meeting him at the Carnegie Endowment, where most other employees had their heads down hard at work at their desks. Shane, on the other hand, was having a great time, even playing darts on occasion. He was just that smart. He could get more done than others, but still have time to be playful.
He made so many of us laugh. He was on this earth for far too short of a time. May we wrap ourselves in the memories of joy he brought into so many of our lives. We will miss you dear Shane. Thank you for showing us how to live a passionate and purposeful life.

I knew Shane in high school and I recall one time after signing yearbooks when I not so originally told him to have a great summer. His response stuck with me though - "Summer? I'm going to have a great life!" And it is apparent from what I've read here, that he absolutely did just that. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family as they deal with this tremendous loss.
