Robert William Wiley (Age 91)  

Died at home at Riverwood Village Retirement Community in Silver Spring, Maryland on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Robert "Bob" was born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, on March 12, 1927. After being stationed in Japan with the U.S. Army, Bob returned home to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and earned his undergraduate degree at Grove City College. Bob met his wife, Gloria, in the choir at First Presbyterian Church in Johnstown. They married on December 20, 1952, and started their family the following year. He began his teaching career while pursuing his Master's degree in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh and eventually receiving a EdD. in Education from Pennsylvania State University. He was recruited as a guidance counselor by the Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland in 1962. Shortly thereafter, Bob accepted a counseling position at Montgomery College, where he spent 37 years, primarily as the Campus Dean for the Takoma Park campus. He retired on February 1, 2001 after returning to teaching near the end of his career. He was also a devoted member of Colesville Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, including serving as a member of Session. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Gloria. Together they had four children and five grandchildren. Celebration of Life and Reception: Saturday, June 16 at 11 a.m. at Colesville Presbyterian Church in Silver Spring, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Garden Fund at the Colesville Presbyterian Church.
