Sandy - Never did I know that moving into our first home in Springfield, that I would also have the best neighbors in the world. Ron was the first to greet us, welcome us and make us his friends. I am forever thankful to you and him for making it so easy to live in our sweet little neighborhood, and so very hard to leave when we moved. So thankful to you and Ron for that lasting friendship, and we will always treasure that, and we are always here for you dear Sandy. Love, Cindy & John

I met Ron in 1955,in Brookside in New Haven. We were friends for 63 years. We loved each other and would share some good laughs over the phone. I would call him every year for his birthday. This year, I was 3 days late and thought about calling him today. I received the sad news from his wife, Sandy. Matt and I gave her our condolences and told her how much we loved him. I'm really sad today.

I know nothing about Ron after high school; I doubt he would even have remembered my name. But I can tell you, as a member of the class just behind his, that as a student at Hopkins Ron was one of the great ones, a hero to many of us, intelligent, kind, gentle, a sort of moral authority. These memories of him have not faded in over fifty years.
