INSEL RUTH LEONA INSEL On Tuesday, November 10, 2009, Ruth L. Insel of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late H. Herbert Insel; devoted mother of four sons, Paul (of San Diego, CA), Richard (of Rochester, NY), Jonathan (of Tucson, AZ) and Thomas (of Potomac, MD). Also survived by nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister Betty Lublin and adoring family of nieces and nephews. Ruth was born and raised in Cleveland, OH and received her undergraduate degree from New York University and Masters of Social Work from Columbia University. She and her late husband H. Herbert Insel lived in Dayton, OH for 14 years and Silver Spring, MD since 1960. Ruth was involved in numerous organizations related to social work, health and education. Her enthusiasm, optimistic outlook, generous spirit and warm smile characterized these efforts and her interactions with a wide circle of friends and family. A private funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13, 1:30 p.m. at Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney, MD.
