Thomas S. Englar JR. (Age 90)
On Friday, June 16, 2023. The beloved husband of Kathy Bright Englar, for 37 years, loving father of Kathy A. Englar and Carol J. Fiertz, grandfather of Natalie Fiertz, Katja Fiertz and Lisa Lacampagne. A celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC – Education Dept.), 647 Contees Wharf Road, Edgewater MD 21037 or to the Maryland Therapeutic Riding Center, 1141 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032. Dear Kathy,
I offer you and your family my sincere condolences on Tom's recent passing. I truly enjoyed our times of carpooling to Old Rag Master Naturalist classes and meetings and getting to know both of you. I never would have guessed Tom's age at 90 as he was so young in spirit, humor and energy! May you be consoled in knowing Tom made an impact out here in Rappahannock County and he and his warm smile and love of nature will be remembered.

I pray that the sorrows you feel right now will soon be replaced with all the wonderful memories of Tom.
What a great guy ! When I met Tom, I was amazed at his physical ability, defying his age.
