Thomas N. Tight
"Tom" (Age 74)

Passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2018. Born in Sandusky, Ohio, to Dr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Tight, Tom was the fourth of six children, Carol, Bud (Judy), Mike (Barb), Steve (Sharon), and John (Mary). Tom grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and graduated from St. Anthony's Catholic School, Central Catholic High School and the University of Dayton. Tom completed officer candidate school at Fort Benning, Georgia, and served his Country as a Lieutenant in the United States Army. Tom was a well-respected veteran of the insurance industry for over 50 years where he was a trusted advisor, mentor, and most recently a teacher. He served his clients with dedication and integrity; a true professional of his craft.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara, and his proud children, Thomas Tight, II and his wife, Kristen of Orlando, Florida, Tasha and her husband, Chris Vallace of Wilmette, Illinois, Adam Tight and his wife, Alie of Carmel, California, and Matt Tight and his wife Cheryl of Orlando, Florida. Tom was the proud grandfather of 15, Tommy and Michael Tight; Lauren, Katherine, Timothy, Matthew, Mary Grace and Angela Vallace; Nora, Gabriela and Claire Tight; and Madison, Lily, Jack and Luke Tight. Tom cherished his faith and family and never missed an opportunity to celebrate both. His laughter was contagious, and he lit up any room he walked into with his warm smile and fun-loving sense of humor. Tom was a kind and humble gentleman; he enriched the lives of all he touched. For "Grandpa Tight", "Geepa", "Peepaw" and "Chicken Boy" his 15 grandchildren were truly a gift from God for a beautiful life lived.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3513 N St NW Washington, DC. Georgetown, on Tuesday, May 22nd, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities USA, 2050 Ballenger Ave. Suite 400, Alexandria, VA 22314. (
