The son of Constantine George Nomikos and the late Rosa May Boswell Nomikos, Dr. Nomikos was born on December 25, 1968, in Petersburg, Virginia and spent his childhood in Richmond, Virginia. Following his graduation from The Collegiate School, where he was the salutatorian speaker for his class, Dr. Nomikos attended Washington and Lee University. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at Washington and Lee and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1991 with majors in English, History and Chemistry. After completion of his studies at the Medical College of Virginia, he was a Transitional Intern at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. In 2009, Dr. Nomikos accepted the position of Chief of Musculoskeletal Imaging at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. where he also held the post of Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology. As a high school classmate of George's from Collegiate, I will always remember George as a friendly, likable, intelligent and exceptionally good natured young man. A memory in A.P. History often brings a smile...our teacher Mr. Neil Weiser once said after a smart and humorous comment from George..."George, you may be wise...but I'm Weiser." You'll be missed George...you left a mark that takes most an entire lifetime.

George will always remain everything good in my life. He was by far my best and only true friend and it has left a giant hole in my heart. But just knowing that I had such a brilliant and humble spirit to share the last 15 years with will always keep a smile in my soul. Love you man like a brother, until the next time. Happy dreams my friend.

George was in my 3rd year med school clinical group. He was hard to keep up with--outshined us all. Impeccably dressed and coiffed. Great sense of humor, well grounded. Miss you, George.

Though I had not spoken with George in a number of years, he was a close childhood friend. I can honestly say I had never met a more virtuous and dedicated person in my life. Often I had wondered about him. It does not surprise me to find that he had accomplished so much in his life. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

During the too short time I knew you as a radiology colleague at Georgetown Hospital your positive presence was like absolutely no other. Gifted, so gifted, so generous and so uncommonly witty. To your courageous father - I am blessed to have known your special son.

George and I were residents at UCSD in radiology. He was a lot of fun to be around and had a great sense of humor. In the past few years, I ran into him a few times at meetings and it was always great to see him again. I am deeply saddened by this news. My prayers go out to his family.

I am truly sorry for this untimely loss! May his family find peace at these unimaginably hard times. George was "one of a kind" classmate. I am deeply saddened.
