I just saw this, I shot flyers with Herb and took him hunting once with my father and I, we never fired the gun all day, we did have a few drinks and alot of laughs. Herb was a good man!!!!!

Just saw this, Herb built headers for my race car in the 60´s and 70´s. He always did an awesome job. I moved to Phoenix in 1975 and lost touch with Herb, he was a great guy.

Found out about Herbs passing just recently, and though I have not seen him in some time, I remember fondly the days of " The alley boys" in Kensington, Md. where I met Paul Garlinski, who introduced me to Herb. I loved his sometimes brash exterior, But that simply covered a heart of gold. He built headers for my Sport Chevrolet sponsored Camaro, and the time I spent at his shop are now wonderful memories, and I think of Herb and those great times often.
God speed, Herb, you are missed.

Just found out about his passing. I'm so sorry to hear of this. He showed me how to shoot my first shotgun, my first fishing trip, and all about drag racing. To this day I still enjoy doing all three. Now they have even more of a special meaning to me. Wish I would have gotten in touch with him sooner. RIP :(

Herb and I went to St. Bernadette's School near Four Corners, Silver Spring. Herb and I reconnected years later in the 1970's, when I invited him to a party at the house I shared with two other young attorneys in Glen Echo, Md. He sure found his niche in building headers for high performance V-8 engines. Proof of that is King Richard ... Petty, of NASCAR fame that used Herb's headers.

We knew Herb for over 50 years and spent the last 20 years living accross the street from him. Through thick and thin, good times and bad, Herb was like a member of our family and will be greatly missed. The love of his life, Marines, is now a part of our family so Herb's memory will always be with us.

I spent a lot of time in Herb's garage in the mid 60s and often went with him when he had the '62 409 Chevy B/S. When I got back from Vietnam in '68 Herb and his dad literally gave me their '61 tri-powered Super Duty Catalina for $400 because that was about all I could afford. We stayed in touch, did some fishing, went to a few drags and talked over the years and I will truly miss the gruff voice at the end at the other end of the phone; "Gebler's Headers".

I always enjoyed the times that I got to spend talking race car theory with Herb. He was inteligent and captivating when he talked about something that he enjoyed. Once he tried to explain the shooting technology to me and I was lost. However we always enjoyed talking racing header theory. I will truly miss the inteligent conversation !!!!
