MARC GEOFFREY DATLOW
Suddenly, on Wednesday October 12, 2011, MARC G. DATLOW of San Mateo, CA. Beloved son of Gerald and Lita Datlow; loving brother of Marcee (Tom Biery) Smith and Michael (Sue) Datlow; dear uncle of Danielle Smith, Jared (Victoria) Smith, Matthew and Mitchell Datlow. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, 11 a.m. at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Shiva after the services Tuesday at the home of Gerald and Lita Datlow. Arrangements entrusted to TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, 202-541-1001.

I was so saddened to just hear of Marc's passing in Oct. My sincere condolences to his family. I worked with Marc for years on opposite coasts for Visa but had many great phone conversations. He will be missed. Cathy Stratz (Fond du Lac, WI)

I worked with Marc for many years at Visa. I am deeply saddened to hear this news. Marc was an amazing person. He always had a smile on his face and kind words to say. I will keep all of you in my prayers through this difficult time.

My deepest sympathy and condolence to the Datlow family. I worked with Marc for years and remember him as the gentlest soft spoken person I ever met. I am still shocked on the news. All I can say is that he will be remembered and may God grant you peace and strength.

Dear Gerard, Lita and the entire Datlow Family: My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of loss. Marc was such a great friend to me and introduced me to so many different things in life, culture, theater, sports, great music and my first airplane trip! We have been friends for over 30 years although the miles set us apart, when we talked on the phone or visited, it was as though we had never been apart from one another. I will miss his insights and laughter. In times of death I turn to one of my favorite verses of the Bible: Isaiah 55:12-13 (NIV) "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD's renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.�
May God's love comfort and provide you strength during this time of sadness.
