I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH MONICA AT AML/QUEST, SHE WAS ALWAYS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR AND THE TYPE OF PERSON WHO WOULD HELP ANYONE OUT. SHE LOVE TO TALK ABOUT HER FAMILY AND ALL OF HER TRIPS, HER FACE WOULD LIGHT UP EVEN MORE WHEN SHE TALKED ABOUT HER CHILDREN. SHE WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPOT IN MY HEART AND MEMORY.

When I was a chief resident at Georgetown I asked her if she can give us 1 or 2 lectures to teach our residents. She asked me if she can give us 6 lectures instead ! I was surprised how much time she took to prepare, print and share her wealth of knowladge in Hemoglobinpathies. I also remember when she invited me few times after work in her house to work on interested cases during my rotation in her lab. The spark in her eyes inspired me to work hard and to share what I know to my follow physcions and students. Truly you will be missed. I promise to share everything you taught me to many generations of trainee at every institution I go to. I don't know the author of this quote but it just described your loss to me...
