Died on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Westminster at Lakeridge, in Woodbridge, VA from breast cancer. Bea was born on January 21, 1939 in Norfolk, VA. At the age of 2, she survived polio, which led to corrective surgeries at the ages of 6 and 10. Her time spent in the hospital after these surgeries inspired her career as a Registered Nurse. She worked with mothers and newborns at Fairfax Hospital for 25 years. She married Harry Douglas Pickett Jr. on September 5, 1959, with whom she had three sons. Widowed at 28, she married Francis S. "Frank' Blasdell in 1968 and gave birth to her fourth son in 1969. Throughout her life she was involved in volunteer work: The King's Daughters in Norfolk, VA, The Stephen Ministry at Vienna Presbyterian Church, and a Cub Scout Den Leader with the Boy Scouts of America. Her dedication to service inspired her sons and all four became Eagle Scouts. Bea is survived by her husband, Frank at Westminster at Lakeridge; her sons, Richard (Donna) of Maryland, Gregory (Nancy) of Rhode Island, Charles (Amy) and David of Virginia; as well as 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on February 9, 2013 at Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street NE, Vienna, VA 22180. Contributions may be made in her honor to The King's Daughters,
