JOSEPH RAYMOND SIMMS (Joey)
On Thursday July 24, 2014, Joey Simms of Gaithersburg,MD. Beloved husband of Jeanne M. Chamberlain; loving father of Erin Rose and Katie Ann. Also survived by his mother, Carol A. Freear, his stepmother, Karen Simms and many aunts, uncles cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his devoted dad, Jeffrey T. Simms. Friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 4900 Strathmore Ave., Garrett Park, MD 20896 on Thursday July 31, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. A reception following the funeral mass will be held at the Knights of Columbus, Rock Creek Mansion, 5417 West Cedar Lane, Bethesda, MD 20814 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund for his daughters at: www.gofundme.com/simmsfamily

To Joey's mom and to Karen, our hearts and our prayers go out to you. As a parent, this is not what we ever want to happen. Only God knows the plan for all of us. God bless you both. To all of the family, Joey's wife and two little daughters, I pray that you will keep God in your hearts for he will help all of you get through this terrible time.
