WALTER JAJKO Obituary
WALTER JAJKO Brigadier General, USAF (Ret.)
On Saturday, October 18, 2014 after a long illness. Beloved husband of Marilyn Jajko; brother of Edward Jajko (Pamela) and brother-in-law of William Barr (Annette). Soldier, statesman, strategist, and scholar of unwavering principle and indomitable character. At the time of his death, General Jajko was the Professor of Defense Studies at The Institute of World Politics (IWP), located in Washington, DC, where he taught a course in the Theorists of Military Strategy. Arrangements for a visitation, Mass of Christian Burial at Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer and interment at Arlington National Cemetery with Full Military Honors will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of General Jajko to IWP.Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia, 703-425-9702. www.fmfh.com

My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Walter. I did not know Walter well but not long ago sought him out for his insights. He was gracious with his time and wisdom and I benefited greatly. Thank God our country has patriots like Walter. I pray that the great loss to family, friends and our country can be healed in time.

Walter was more than family to me. He was a motivator. He was a huge reason why I have confidence and faith in myself. He made me strive to go for more than just enough -- to succeed all my dreams. I could listen to his stories every day if I could; he gave the best hugs too! He will be missed.

Walter was more than a General, Professor, or scholar, he was a friend who could always be counted upon. He was my mentor someone who taught me a lot, Lore & I will miss him more than words can express.
