My very deepest sympathy goes out to the Melanie's friends and family. I did not know her personally, but wish I did. Her smile and cheerfulness would light up a room in a second! The world is a sadder place with her.

Robin, the last time I saw Melanie we were both children. What a dynamic woman she had become--although not surprising! It was quite a shock to the entire Bernard family to learn of her passing. Please know that our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you, Jez, and Jordache. God bless you~

Robin: My deepest sympathy on the loss of your Melanie. I only met her briefly when on both occasions she was transporting your parents and Gill respectively. But the tributes say it all.

We sub-leased our office space from Melanie soon after we moved to Charlotte. She was a pleasure to see each day. We would share our "food finds" with each other and give advise on where to go since we were newcomers. We are all saddened to hear of her passing and are thinking of Robin and her family.

I knew Melanie professionally in my role as an attorney who worked, often, with HUD. Her optimistic outlook in working to get solutions to my client's matters, even as she was sometimes slowed by the process she needed to go through, to protect the Department, was infectious. We at my firm all developed a personal affection for the person, not the employee, that Melanie was. She'll be sorely missed on both counts

When I learned of Melanie's passing I thought my heart would break. It is not too often in life that you encounter a totally beautiful person, but Melanie was one- in every respect- the joy and optimism that she shared with everyone ever in her presence made a lasting impression. So kind, so warm, so loving. My deepest condolences go out to her family and all those who loved her. It was impossible not to. We will all miss her very much.
