I am so sorry. I will always be grateful for the way Henry and Bella welcomed us into their home when we moved to Maryland. I cherish the memory of seders with them and their family and friends and feel blessed to have known Henry.

Henry and Bella Tovey opened their home and their hearts to Robbie's friends in a loving way when we were teenagers. They gave us their warmth and humor always; I cherish those memories.

Henry lived his life with love, dignity, great knowledge and intellect, compassion, bravery and beauty. He will be sorely missed by Bella, Craig and Roberta and their children, along with many, many dear friends. We will all take comfort in the gifts he left, including his beautiful photos of birds, people and places, the exquisite plantings in the yard and visits of the grateful birdfeeder regulars, around the house.
Sometimes we are requested to leave a place "a little better than how we found it." This is what Henry did. He, with the extraordinary love of his beloved Bella, made the world a better place, through his professional endeavors as a chemist, the sharing of his musical knowledge, the endless hospitality from his and Bella's home, volunteering at the White House, and of course, his life long love and devotion to his family.
It was only a few weeks ago that Henry told me that he's had a "long and very good life." I hope this is some comfort to all who are missing his presence. May his memory forever be for a blessing.
With much love,
Elissa (Aks-Srabstein) and for Jorge and Ari Srabstein
