I was honored to call Carol my friend. She was the first person I met when I came on board at DHS and she tucked me right under her wing. She was warm, funny, intelligent and thought of everyone before herself. I was blessed to be with her, along with her family, as she passed. I will miss her so, but I know she is safe in God's arms. To her family... Take comfort in knowing you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

A Season, a reason, or a lifetime. Carol came in and out of my life in seasons, always for good reason, and will be in my heart for this lifetime (and more).

No thank you or lit candle could ever express my gratitude for the role you played in my life. From treating me as one of your own, to sharing your family with me, to bringing light into my life in the darkest of times. You always told me "ya can't get rid of me kid." So instead of grieving I will hold you to that. Until the next season, reason, or lifetime, Rest In Peace. You have more than earned it.

My thoughts and love are with the family and please let me know if there is anything you need.

To lose someone you love is to alter your life forever..
The pain stops, there are new people, but the gap never closes.
This hole in your heart is the shape of the one you lost - no one else can fit it. (J. Winterson)

May my beautiful sister rest by the shores of everlasting peace, may she feel no more pain or struggles. I wish for her to run through fields of flowers with her beloved ancestors and those friends and family that have gone before her. May she always look down on us to watch over us and guide us.
