DIANE RITTER Obituary

Diane Chesnut Ritter
Passed on April 28, 2017. She was born the second daughter of Helen Abell Chesnut and Frank Theodore Chesnut on August 14, 1937. She was predeceased by both her parents and her sister, Dale Chesnut Hudgens. Diane is survived by her husband, James Carroll Ritter; her four children, James Forrest Ritter, June Kirsten Ritter, Jonathan Carroll Ritter, Brian Duncan Ritter and six grandchildren. Mrs. Ritter graduated in 1955 from West Phoenix High School in Phoenix, Arizona and went on to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder, from which she graduated in 1959, and where she met her husband Jim. Dani, as she was known to her friends, married Jim after graduation in Boulder, Colorado. The couple has been married for 57 years. One of Dani's greatest joys in life was raising her four children. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville at a time to be scheduled in May. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors without Borders or the Southern Poverty Law Center in her name. Dani will be missed by all those she touched.

Dani,
I have always loved you and I always will. I knew you for four years in college and was married to you for 57 years, each one full of joy. You gave us four wonderful children and were the heart of our family. I miss you now so terribly but I am comforted that you had a full and creative life. Goodbye Dani.

My condolences to your family. I have such wonderful memories of you all from when my sister and I were little and our families spent more time together. Love to you all.

Dani was a wonderful woman who gave of her time and talents to help improve the lives of dependent and neglected children in Washington DC.
I hope that Jim, her children, and grandchildren will be comforted in knowing that she is safely in God's Hands.

I am sorry for your loss. Please be "convinced that neither death ... will be able to separate us from God's love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." May you have peace during this difficult time.
