Very sad to hear William passed away. I worked with William for many years providing contracting support to the WRAIR in Silver Springs MD. William always provided outstanding and informative input towards finalization of timely contracting actions. He was always pleasant to work with. William lifted everyone's spirit when he entered a room. It was my pleasure to have known William. I will have the memories of not only our working relationship, but our friendship as well.

To my dearest William, my supervisor and my friend! I will miss you so much! We could always depend on you for your time (sun up to sun down- you were there), your laughter (infectious), your jokes (hilarious), loud talking and typing on your keyboard- it was never a dull moment whenever you were around! I am so honored to have known such a vibrant person such as yourself! Work or life will not be the same without you so decided to let you live in my heart. Until we meet again William, until we meet again.

William was my friend and co-worker for 15 years. He was a bright star and exuded warm sunshine everywhere he went. We commiserated over work and giggled over beer, sometimes in German. His deep voice was calming and oh so glorious when he sang. RIP my friend, Du hast die ganze Welt wie die Sonne vergoldet.

I got to know William through the choir at St John the Baptist. He had an excellent tenor voice and a range to do bass and even alto.
When the choir sang for Mass he would very often juggle as Cantor and choir member. He will be greatly missed not just for his talent but for his vibrant personality and love for people.
May he sing with the Choir of Angels now in Heaven

It is with great sadness I received the message that my good friend since we first met as next door neighbors in Nairobi is dead. Since then, ten years ago, we kept in touch with each other from and in our home countries, the United States and Norway. I will be eternally grateful to you for our friendship, your smile and your laughter. William, rest in peace.

What a loss! I first met William on one of his visits back to WRAIR from Kenya. I was new to the Navy at the time and he welcomed me to the military family and told me that my boss was one of the good ones! He was, of course, right about that and so many other things. Over the years, he proved to be a bright shining light! He greeted everyone and treated everyone as important. His laugh and personality were infectious! He was one of a kind. Rest well, William. Rest well!

It was always my pleasure to work with William. A wonderful, caring person with a delightful personality. He was a giant at WRAIR, and yet, he was always kind enough to help me and others with anything. William fought the good fight, and finished the race.

I have known William for years, he worked on the Army side and I the Navy side he was a joy to work with, he was a joy to talk to. I will miss his laugh, his all around humor about life. I will miss seeing him walking around with no socks on his feet, I will miss saying Good Night William. I will miss seeing him drinking his Coke soda or even having the window open in the Winter time. I will miss him saying Night Ladies.

William was one of a kind. I will miss his smile, his laughter and his wisdom. I worked many years ends for close out at his sister lab RIID. We used to laugh when each year end was over saying we spent so many late nights and early mornings together on the phone helping each other out on reimbursables. We always figured it out together. William was a great friend and a great team player. He knew no strangers. To have a friend you have to be a friend and that was our William. My sincere condolences on the loss of William, a great man.
