We met Annie at Artomatic. My wife and I browsed the exhibition and at the end, consulted on what we liked. We liked many but both said there was only one we were interesting in buying and it turned out to be the same one by Annie. Something in her whimsical style spoke to us and I dare say her art may have universal appeal.

I only just saw a notice about Annie's passing, posted on Artomatic's website by her sister, Linda.

I met her at Artomatic, but was aware of her work for years.
Annie was one of the shining stars of the DC art and illustration scene.
She will be missed by all who knew her and her wonderfully creative artwork.

everyone who knew Annie loved Annie. She was a creative force and a beautiful person. She was a founding member of the Illustrators Club of Washington, Maryland and Virginia and worked diligently to foster the careers of many of us in the area for many years. The illustration world is not what it used to be, but Annie's work blossomed in spite of or perhaps because of the release of the associated restrictions of working for a client's needs. She was a true artist and she will be missed. Thankfully, we have her legacy of brilliant work to keep us company.

Deepest sympathy, Linda, in the loss of your sister Ann. I remembered her as a feisty, but loving woman who was blessed with great artistic talents. May she Rest In Peace with your dear parents and her dear sister, Laura. God bless you in your time of sorrow.
