Ostrowski, Ronald
Ronald L. Ostrowski, 69, Birnamwood, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at his home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice Services, Antigo.
He was born on December 23, 1942 in the town of Reid, Marathon County, the son the late Peter and Mathilda (Letarski) Ostrowski.
Ron and his longtime friend and business partner, Clarence Timm, owned and operated the former Midway Bar in Birnamwood for 25 years. They later owned and operated the "76" gas station in Birnamwood for 10 years and also owned R'Place Supper Club in Eland for 12 years. Ron enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, going out to eat and showing antique cars. He was a fun-loving person and enjoyed being with people.
Survivors include by his loving dog, Midnight; two sisters, Esther (Wallace) Brzezinski, Ringle and Joyce (Jerry) Gagas, Scandinavia and one brother, Robert Ostrowski, Kailua, Hawaii. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his longtime companion of 50 years, Clarence Timm, two sisters; Doris Szutkowski and Anna Mae Ostrowski, in infancy and three brothers; Daniel Ostrowski, David Ostrowski and Edward Ostrowski, in infancy.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Rev. Anthony Ibekwe will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood. Visitation will be on Sunday from 10am until the time of services at the funeral home. The family guestbook and condolences are available at schmidtschulta.com.

I'M WENDY THE DAUGHTER OF DAVID HIS BROTHER, FROM CALIFORNIA, I WAS ABLE TO MEET HIM WHEN I WENT TO VISIT IN WISCONSIN, TO MEET MY FATHER, WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT HIS HOUSE ON THE LAKE, I LOVES HIS OLDIE CARS AND HE TREATED ME VERY KIND! WE GIGGLED ABOUT THE PLASTIC ON HIS FURNITURE..HE COOKED ME THE BEST DINNER AND WAS THE ONE TO GREET ME WHEN I GOT THERE!!DAVID COULDNT MAKE IT..BUT HE MADE UP FOR HIS SHORT COMINGS!! HE MADE ME A WONDERFUL DESERT THAT GRANDMA MATILDA USE TO MAKE AND IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE DESERTS THAT I MADE..THERE CALED BIOLOGICAL BARS.. YUMMY!! RONNIE AND CLEARENCE CAME TO CLAIFORNIA TO STAY WITH ME FOR A FEW WEEKS, THEY EXPERIENCED A EARTHQUAKE, SAY LOTS OF CLAIFORNIA LANDMARKS AND ORGANIZED MY HOUSE...AND PAIRED ALL MY SOCKS LOL!! I RECENTLY CHATTED AND PRAYED WITH HIM,,,HE CRIED AND I SAID I LOVED HIM!! HIS PERSONALITY WAS GITTY AND WHAT FUN GUY!!! I WILL SEE HIM IN HEAVEN ONE AY SO FOR NOW GOOD BYE!! LOVE AND KISSES WENDY....

I remember going to visit my grandmother, and we also spent time with Uncle Ronnie. He took us to his bar and car museum, which was really cool. Also spent time by a lake. Ronnie will be missed:) RIP and God Bless Ronnie.

Uncle Ronnie.. what i remember most was ur shop full of all those awsum antique cars and especially the hot red one that you said floats on water. and it was always fun visiting your bar and the trunk of the car sometimes smelled like scalloped potatoes and ham that was being taking to ur place...
