Elva VanVonderen, 88, of Wausau, passed away peacefully in her home on November 7, 2012. She was born on September 23, 1924 to John Landin and Anna Benson and is survived by her daughter Susan (Mark Waldman) of Agoura Hills, California; her son John of Wausau; two grandchildren: Lauren Vance (Brandon) of Ventura, California and Adam Waldman of Woodland Hills, California; and her loving companion Glen Nelson and his family.

Elva loved gardening, dancing, and watching the birds and wildlife in her yard.

She also loved reading spiritual literature, discussing politics, and caring for

stray cats in the neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, four brothers (Otto, Arvid, Elmer, Edwin, and Vernon), and three sisters (Olga, Arlene, and Ruth).

Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family. Memorial services will take place at a later date. Online condolences can be expressed at www.mwcs.ws.
