Paula T. Jank, 88, of Wausau went to meet her Lord on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.

Paula's life reflects one of service, graduating from nurses training in 1945. In 1951, after five years of hospital nursing, Paula joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, reaching the level of Captain, serving in Japan and Okinawa for four years.

In 1962 graduating from the University of Minnesota graduate school received a Master of Public Health Degree. For the next seventeen years Paula worked as a public health nurse consultant for the States of Montana and Idaho ending her career as a school nurse in Boise Idaho.

Camping and fishing in the mountain were her greatest joys. Gardening, reading and traveling were other hobbies that she enjoyed.

Paula is survived by her two brothers and one sister, Roland Jank, Omaha, Neb., Orville (Arlene) Jank, Wausau, and Lois (Robert) Kroenke, Shawano, Wis.; friend, Mary Ann Dawson, Wausau; and nieces and nephews.

The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau. The Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held at a later date.

Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau, is assisting the family with arrangements.
