Rodney H. Wendland
Rodney H. Wendland, 84, met our Lord on Fri, Dec. 14, 2012, at Aspirus Hospice House, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born July 19, 1928, in Wausau, son of the late Herman and Eva (Carnes) Wendland. He married Virginia D. Stuplich. They divorced. He married Sylvia R. (Tesch) Hintz on Jan. 28, 1977, Crystal Falls, MI. She preceded him in death Aug. 26, 2003.
Survivors include one daughter, Jill (George) Shimulunas; one son-in-law, John Komoroski; seven step-children, William (JoAnn) Hintz, Janet (Joel) McClure, Evelyn (Darold) Wegner, Bonnie (DuWayne) Graveen, Virginia Hintz, Kathleen (Ronald) Speener and Bruce (Joyce) Hintz; four grandchildren, 25 step grandchildren; five great grandchildren and 41 step great grandchildren, seven step great great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacalyn Komoroski; one step son, Donald Hintz and four brothers.
Services will be on Tues. Dec 18, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ, Wausau. Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service. The Rev. Wayne Drueck will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery, Wausau.
Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, is assisting the family.
