Betty W. Tierney
Wausau - Betty W. Tierney, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Hospice House in Wausau, WI surrounded by her family.
She was born July 23, 1925 in town of Hamburg, daughter of the late Robert and Otillie (Zastrow) Gruling. On April 3, 1948 she married Robert Tierney at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church for over 60 years.
Betty is survived by and is the loving mother of seven children; James (Vicki) Tierney, Wausau, Gale Tierney, Wausau, Gary (Janet) Tierney, Roseville, Minnesota, Debbie (Mike) Diewald, Madison, Michael (Susan) Tierney, McFarland, Thomas (Kristine) Tierney, Wausau and Tammy (Knox) Johnson, Kaukauna; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob (Eppie) Gruling, Merrill. She was preceded in death by, her beloved husband, Bob and 18 siblings.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Bruce Lamont will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau.

Our deepest sympathy to your family. Your mother was a sweetheart. Always enjoyed giving her a hug at church. She was special. We weren't able to attend the funeral as we are out of town.
