Christine M. Hanson

Christine Hanson, age 52, of Merrill, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Bell Tower Residence under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born November 29, 1960 in Merrill to Ole J. & Barbara A. (Travis) Hanson.

Christine attended Merrill Schools and graduated in 1982 in Special Education. She had worked at Lincoln Industries for 33 years. Christine enjoyed bowling, swimming and going south to Alabama for the winter. Christine had a special place in her heart for her dogs and cats. She participated in Special Olympics and also belonged to the ARC. Christine was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Survivors include her mother: Barbara Hanson, Merrill; one brother: Brian (Kathy) Hanson, Harrison; three sisters: Jane (Patrick) Severt, Cathy (Jim) Wendt and Polly (Scott) Hoffmann, all of Merrill; six nephews: Adam Annis, Farmington, MN, Jeremiah (Katie) Wendt, Chippewa Falls, WI, Daniel Hoffmann and Jared Hoffmann (Godson), both of Merrill, Ole Hanson, Harrison, and Nicholas Hoffmann, Merrill; two nieces: Hannah (Chris) Hanson, Merrill and Katie Hanson, Harrison; four great nieces: Isabel, Josie, Evie and Dottie; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Ole James Hanson, and a brother and sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Holy Cross Chapel, Bell Tower Residence. Sister John Marie will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 pm Thursday at Holy Cross Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. The family requests donations to be given to Bell Tower Residence, Lincoln County Humane Society or to Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice. Christine's family appreciates all the good care she received at Bell Tower and would like to thank all the Merrill area and Lincoln County residents for offering educational and vocational opportunities for the disabled.
