Darlene Blaskowski Obituary
Blaskowski, Darlene

Darlene R. Blaskowski, 76, of Wausau, passed away December 25, 2012.

She was born May 28, 2012 to Frank and Lucy (Koppa)Wilichowski.

Darlene left this earth on December 25th after a one year battle with cancer. She graduated from Marathon High School and married John Blaskowski in September 1957. Her employment included the Wausau Public Library, Wausau Insurance and Stonecrest nursing home. She also enjoyed helping the elderly and did volunteer work at the Salvation Army. However, her favorite job was taking care of her only grandchild, Olivia. Darlene cherished her moments of reading with Olivia, taking her to swim lessons, playing cards and games and seeing her grow up. Darlene also loved working in her flower gardens and tending to her birds. Indoors, her past times were sewing and quilting, reading, putting together puzzles and trying new soup and dessert recipes. Christmas was her favorite holiday season of the year. She never wrapped any two presents with the same paper or bows. Darlene also had a penchant for antiquing. Lastly, what she valued most was her time spent with family.

Darlene is survived by two sons Gary (Diane ) Blaskowski of Sun Prairie and Daniel Blaskowski of Wausau, two daughters Diane (Roger ) Gilbertson of Madison, and Nancy (Dave ) Larson of Wausau, one grandchild Olivia Larson, three brothers Edwin ( Mary Ann ) Wilichowski, Art Wilichowski, and Ruffin ( Dorothy ) Wilichowski; four sisters Betty ( Ray ) Karlen, Virgie ( Al ) Mroczenski, Sister Laverne Wilichowski, and Christine ( Jerome ) Martin; two sisters-in-law Margie Wilichowski and Lorraine Wilichowski, and her ex-husband John Blaskowski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers Tony Wilichowski, Jerry Wilichowski, Aloysius Wilichowski, Clarence Wilichowski, Alfred Wilichowski, and David Wilichowski; and three sisters-in-law, Margie Wilichowski, Vangie Wilichowski, and Kathleen Wilichowski.

Services will be held January 5, 2013, at the Catholic Church of St. Anne's. Visitation will be at the church at 10 am, with the burial service at 11:15 am. Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family.
