Graykowski, Kenneth
Kenneth S. Graykowski, age 70, of Wausau died Monday, January 7, 2013. Ken was born in Wausau on October 1, 1942 to Martha and Leon Graykowski. He married Linda Weinkauf on May 30, 1964.
They had three sons, Luke Graykowski, Seth Graykowski (Kelly) both of Wausau, and Andrew Graykowski (Mikki) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ken has nine grandchildren Kyle, Amanda, Brenda, Sy, Shenae, Abby, Paige, and Dennis. He also has four great-grandchildren Shavona, Kendra, Marley, and Jacob.
In addition to his wife Linda, Ken is survived by his brothers Gerald of Wausau and Ron of Waupaca, and his honorary other brother, Donovan Van Sleet of Wausau. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Dennis and mother, Martha.
In the early 1980's Ken was very instrumental in the creation of the Town of Texas Park-Jesse Field. He went door-to-door selling pizzas and also traded a tractor for the construction and roof on the shelter at the park.
Ken worked at J.I. Case for 30 years. After retirement he worked as a surveyor's assistant for the County, then for his son and daughter-in-law's business, Graykowski Distributing.
He loved his cottage on Lake Mohawksin, where he fished, pontooned and partied. He's best known for his famous Grilled Maple Chicken, which he often cooked for his family and friends.
A celebration of Ken's life will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 2-3 p.m. at Faith Christian Community Church of God, North View Plaza, 1720 Merrill Ave. Wausau. Reverend Chad Weinkauf will officiate. The attendees are encouraged to wear green and gold. Ken sure loved his Green Bay Packers!
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent for the upkeep of Town of Texas Park-Jesse Field; made out to Linda Graykowski T675 Pine Bluff Rd. Wausau 54403.
Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family.

Kenny was a great friend to grow up with. As a neighborhood we all loved each other, watched out for each other and wondered what the future had in store for us. We lost touch with each other, but I have always thought of him. I know he was a great friend and was surely a great husband, father and grandfather. I send my sympathies to all.
