I met Peggy the first few weeks she moved to Alexandria. She hadn't found a place to live yet, but came to meet fellow members of AAUW at a local restaurant. We immediately found we were both interested in history, & talked about the history of Alexandria. Peggy became a board member of one museum, and the local historical association. She became part of our community also.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Peggy's passing. I met Peggy in 2012. She was my instructor and mentor. I had the pleasure of spending one of her last week's with her in March in Ft. Lauderdale, where we were teaching a course. I know she had a great time, and we enjoyed her wealth of knowledge and experience. Her stories of family and cross country trips and adventures around the world amazed me, and the fact that she was still close with her childhood friends after so many moves impressed me. She was rich with the love of family and friends and all the memories of shared experiences. I feel blessed to have known her, and I will miss her. My sincere condolences to her family. She was so proud of all of you.

My deepest condolences to Peggy's family. I had the priviledge of attending two courses she taught and going out to dinner with her during one of them. Her love for teaching and the students shined through and her smile lit up the room. We had great discussions about being from Minnesota and how important family is, no matter where in the world she was. She will be greatly missed. May the Lord comfort you and give you strength.

Dear Pat and family,

I was stunned and saddened by the news of Peggy's death, unbelieving. She had been a great friend and source of support and strength, and I looked forward to the next time we'd be able to meet when we were both in Wausau again.

My late husband Larry always said that Peggy made him look good in the many years she worked alongside him, and he was right. Peggy was an extraordinary person, and will be missed by many. Love to you all.--Kathy Riordan, Fort Myers, Florida and Wausau, Wisconsin

To the family and friends of Ms. Peggy Gross, I know a light will continue to shine and flowers will always bloom in the hearts of many of her students from FSI, because of the seeds she planted within us as we sat eagerly to learn, and hear one of her many stories (life experiences). Having the fortunate pleasure of being one of her students, I am grateful her light shined and caring nature blossomed upon me, as I strive to become a better person both professional and personal.

Her legacy of caring and sharing will forever live on…Peggy, you will be missed, but never forgotten!

Thank you for caring and everything you taught me!
