Florence Hutchison Obituary
Florence Hutchison

Florence F. Hutchison-Kuhn, 89, of Wausau, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014.

Florence was born in Masonville, MI on September 1, 1924 to the late Emil and Eva (Williams) Iverson. While working as a waitress in Milwaukee, Florence met and later married Robert Hutchison. Together they had five children but also opened up their home and their hearts to five foster children. Later in life, after Robert passed away, Florence again found love and married Ken Kuhn when she was 80 years old.

Florence lead vacation bible school and volunteered with the church. She would sew "Bags of Love" for foster children; giving them their own quilt to keep with them.

In her early years, with Robert, Florence enjoyed square dancing, which she was really good at. She also enjoyed horseback riding. She made sure to instill in her children early on the importance of hard work by having them work at the horse stables. She and Robert also enjoyed dog sledding and had their own team while they were in their 60's.

Florence spent her later years married to Ken, whom she loved and cared for each day.

Florence loved her family, sewing, knitting, the outdoors, gardening, berry picking, canning and she loved to bake; making Christmas candy and baking cookies. There wasn't a cookie she didn't know how to bake.

Florence is survived by her children; Timothy Hutchison, Stevens Point, Prudence (Leo) Buchholtz, Lehr, North Dakota, Sarah(Robert) Popelka, Wausau, Ruth(Victor) Smith, Plover, Steven Boucher, Portage, Joan Siemers, Plover, Joy Manley, Oxford, Rebecca Kleinschmidt, Merrill; and sister, Ellen Hurkman, Rhinelander; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; daughter, Patricia Campbell; son, Mike Boucher; two grandchildren Laurie Hirsh and Shane Guilday; brothers, Monard, Earl and Floyd Iverson; sisters, Anna May, Amelia and Ruby.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Shepherds House Church, 6300 Bittersweet Road, Wausau, WI 54401. The Rev. Rowell Puedivan will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am until the time of services at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
