Enid passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00am under hospice care after a short illness. She was born on July 2nd, 1922 in Wausau to the late Alburn and Clara (Hoenisch) Stanke.

Enid was a lifelong member of St. Paul's UCC of Wausau where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir since she was eight years old. She was a member of the Mother's Club, where she participated in crafts and quilting. Enid was also a lifetime member of Marathon Chapter 123 OES and the White Shrine of Jerusalem, where she held several offices. She had a long interest in music and was a member of the Wausau Oratorical Choir and Wausau Insurance Music Society.

She was an avid bowler and golfer and won several awards in both. Enid was also an avid Packer, Badger, and Brewer fan. She also sat through countless fast pitch softball games both watching her husband, Norman, and son, Al.

On May 15th, 1948 Enid married Norman Harold Raspel and they had over 52 years together. They enjoyed traveling together and with friends and made several trips to Branson, Missouri and Las Vegas, Nevada. They also went on many trips to the local casinos and were happy when they broke even.

Survivors include Jean Raspel, Verona, WI and her daughter, Gretchen Grote, Madison, WI; Elaine (Peter) Raspel-Borth and their children, Kevin (Alex) Borth, Seattle, WA and Carlye (Andy) Kraemer, Crystal, MN; and Alan (Diane) Raspel, Omro, WI and their children, Megan, (Houghton, MI), Sergei and Paul, both of Omro, WI. Enid is also survived by a brother, Myron (Joan) Stanke, Greenville, WI and Janis (John) Morgan, Dubuque, Iowa.

She was further serviced by special cousins Helen Splitt and LuAnn Oelke; and many thanks to Iola Doescher for her love and support.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her parents; brother A. Edgar (Almira) Stanke; and sister, Sandra Tarnow.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Helke Funeral Home at 1 p.m., on Friday January 11, 2013. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home.
