John Futers Obituary

Passed away peacefully at his residence with his family by his side on January 25, 2021 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 63 years to Donna. Dear father of Paul (Debbie), Gail (Greg), Colleen (Mark) and Glen (Tina). Proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Brother of Fred (the late Beverly) and Joan (Winston). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The Futers family will have a private service. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. I had the pleasure to have known John from having worked with him in Port Maitland. He was one of those rare and gifted people who could competently and confidently ensure the reliable and safe operation of all the process equipment in a complex chemical manufacturing plant. Later in his career, he adapted to become a computer specialist overseeing the plant's transformation to this (at that time ) emerging technology. But more importantly, John was a pleasure to work with throughout his accomplished career! Deanne and I send our sincerest sympathy to Donna and all John's family and many friends.
