Alexander Clayton Calvert, 21, of Canton, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, in rural Canton.

A son of Shane Calvert and Susan Crawford, he was born May 13, 1997, in Quincy, Ill.

Alex was a great daddy, who was loyal, hardworking, handsome and fun loving. He was very protective of his mom and siblings and would give you the shirt off his back to help. He is survived by his mother, Susan Crawford of Quincy, and father, Shane Calvert of Canton; a daughter, Audrey Calvert and life partner, Hannah Cobb of Canton; maternal grandfather, Marc Crawford of Quincy; paternal grandmother, Debbie "Nana" Current of Canton; sister, Kristin "Kiki" Tucker of Quincy; two brothers, Lucas Noble of Quincy and Wyatt Calvert of Canton; uncles, Dustin Calvert of St. Joseph and Jared Crawford of Quincy; aunts, Mellissa Cook and Sarah Calvert, both of Quincy; nephew, Kordin McColez; several cousins; and many friends that he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Karen Burrows, and paternal grandfather, Lysle Calvert.
