Donald Eldon Wallace, 83, of Barry, died at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 9, 1934, in Barry, to Eldon Loraine and Hazel May (Inman) Wallace. They preceded him in death. He married Barbara Ruth (Bryan) Wallace on Sept. 20, 1953, in Hannibal, Mo. She preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1997. He then married Roberta Lee (Ratliff) Bryan Wallace on Jan. 1, 2000, in Barry. She survives in Barry.

Don was born and raised in Barry, an only child. He graduated from Barry High School in 1952. He played the trombone in the band.

He worked in the movie theater and then the rest of his career at Central Stone Rock Quarry in Florence and retired from there in 1999.

Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He owned a river cabin down on Cincinnati Landing and enjoyed many summers boating and fishing there. He and Barbara traveled the 48 contiguous states on their motorcycle. He was a lifelong member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) and the American Motorcycle Association (AMA). After Barbara died, he married Roberta and they enjoyed becoming snowbirds and wintering in South Texas. They traveled to Alaska and enjoyed their camper at several campgrounds.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Susan Kay Wallace of Quincy, Donald Richard Wallace (Janeen) of Quincy, John Allen Wallace of Burlington, Iowa, and Michael Bryan Wallace (Michael) of Barry; five grandchildren, LeighAnna Lynn Hill (Tommy) of Pleasant Hill, Kristina Michelle Rhea (Casey) of Camp Point, Stephen Michael Wallace of Quincy, Bryan Scott Gottman (Meagan) of Gilbert, Ariz., and Nicole Renee Hollin (Sean) of Peoria, Ariz.; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah Rae Hill of Pleasant Hill, Easton Allen Rhea, Hudson Thomas Rhea and Lincoln Beckett Rhea (June 2018), all of Camp Point, Jacob Curtis Hollin and Gracelyn Ann Hollin, of Peoria, Ariz., and Azaryah Wild Gottman and Levi Brody Gottman of Gilbert, Ariz.; and five stepchildren.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Barry.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: Unity Point Hospice.
