Sister Philip Marie Link SSND Obituary
Sister Philip Marie Link, 93, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at her home at Veronica House, Bridgeton, Mo. Georgeanne Elizabeth Link was born in Quincy to Philip and Edna Maas Link, and became Sister Philip Marie when she took her vows to become a Notre Dame nun.

She attended St. John and St. Francis Catholic grade schools and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1943.

Sister Georgie, as we fondly called her, taught as a teacher/principal in many places: New Orleans, East St. Louis, Ill., St Louis, Herron, Nokomis, New Berlin and Springfield, where she ended her teaching career, and became pastoral minister at St. Cabrini Parish until she retired in 2015. She celebrated her 70th Jubilee in 2013.

Sister is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Phyllis LaRoche of Quincy, Robert and Celia Link of Chicago, John Link of Springfield, Paul and Grace Link of Appleton, Wis., Dolores Neumann of Bloomington, Ind., James and Linda Link of Loraine, Ill., and Barbara and Vince Zimmerman of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and three cousins, Joan Spitsen, Mary Carolyn Schullian and Dwain Preston.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a little brother, David Bernard; a sister-in-law, Pat Link; two brothers-in-law, Paul LaRoche and John Neumann; two nieces, Susan Kube and Jamie Link; and one nephew, Steve Neumann.

SERVICES: A wake will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Veronica House, Bridgeton, and a Mass and burial will be 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the School Sisters of Notre Dame Motherhouse, 320 E. Ripa Ave., St. Louis.
