Roger Melvin Lueders Obituary
Roger Melvin Lueders, 76, of Sunset Home, Quincy, formerly of Camp Point, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at the home.

Roger was born March 21, 1942, in Quincy, a son of William "Bud" and Eunice Watson Lueders.

Mr. Lueders was employed as a salesman for Banker's Life and Casualty. He had been a volunteer with the Camp Point Fire Protection District and a former member of the Camp Point Lions Club. Roger was a 1960 graduate of Camp Point Central High School. He grew up in the Columbus area and was a member of the Columbus United Methodist Church and the 4-H Club. Roger enjoyed bowling, golf and was best known as a fast-pitch softball pitcher. He also was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include his daughter, Cathy (William) Hummert of Quincy; two granddaughters, Riley and Sydney Hummert, both of Quincy; a brother, Kent (Betty) Lueders of Quincy; two sisters, Susan (Kent) Wilson of Sewell, N.J., and Julie Boylen of Springfield, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Craig Lueders; two brothers, Wayne and Daniel Lueders; and a nephew, Wyatt Wilson.

SERVICES: Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point, with Pastor Sheila Kelly conducting.

VISITATION: There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the graveside services.
