COOP, Jeananne Wright
Jeananne was born on April 04, 1947 in Salem, Oregon to Marygene Marshburn Wright and William Harrison Wright Jr. Soon they returned to Whittier and the family has remained in the Whittier area since. The City of Whittier is where, for the most part, Jeananne lived-out her entire life.
Jeananne attended grade school in the Whittier City School District. After graduating from Sierra High School, she attended Earlham College, Cerritos College, received her bachelor's degree in Home Economics from Cal Poly Pomona, and a master's degree in Consumer Science from Cal State Long Beach.
After raising her two sons, Benjamin H. Coop and Theodore M. Coop, she entered into a teaching career that brought her through junior high school, high school, community college and culminating with twenty-plus years of teaching for Cal State University Long Beach. She was a published expert of costume, including Quaker bonnets, and a nationally certified home economist.
Jeananne grew up in the Whittier First Friends Church and served in the church as well as community and professional associations. She was an active member and past president of the PEO BJ Chapter, Whittier Home Economists in Home and Community, Costume Society of North America, and Wearable Art Connection. Jeananne was also a proponent and supporter of Habitat for Humanity, the Woman's and Children's Crisis Shelter, the Assistance League of Whittier, and the Whittier Public Library.
On June 17, 2017 Jeananne and her husband, Lind W. Coop, celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a hundred family and friends in attendance. After a six-plus year fight, she succumbed to cancer on Monday, August 28, 2017.
Jeananne is survived by her son Ben, his wife Jennifer and their children Hannah and Nelson, son Ted and his daughter Mary, as well as her husband Lind.
A memorial service will be held at the First Friends Church of Whittier on Saturday, September 16, 2:00 p.m.

A loved one lost certainly grieves the heart, and makes us yearn for tomorrow, when God will keep his promise of no more pain, no death, no sorrow.

Dear Lind - Although I haven't been in touch with Jeananne for some time, I remember her fondly, and the wonderful times we spent together all through school. Glad that you had 50 blessed years together. I know she is profoundly missed by her family and your community. Praying for you all.
