MEZA, Andrea Fraire

Andrea Fraire Meza passed away on July 12, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born in El Paso, Texas on December 1, 1923. She is survived by her Husband, Paul to whom she was married for 74 years, two children, Paul Meza of Monterey Park, and Daughter, Patricia Telles of Whittier. She leaves behind 7 Grandchildren, Paula Emanuele, Phil Meza, Anthony Meza, Richard A. Meza, Paul Meza Jr, Eric Vincent Telles, Edward Martin Telles, 7 Great-Grandchildren, Nicole Meza, Christine Meza, Matthew Emanuele, Novelle Meza, Mokihana Kauhola Telles, and Noah Eric Telles, Sister, Charlotte, Brothers, Tony, Vincent, Peter, David, Mike and numerous Nieces and Nephews in California.
In her earlier years, Andrea worked 23 years as a sewing machine operator, making slip covers for furniture. She also worked manufacturing swimming pools and beach balls. She retired in early 1971 to spend more time with her grandchildren.
Andrea had a heart of gold and great compassion for others in need. Her personality and generosity earned her many friends within the community. On top of being a loving and giving Grandmother, she volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW #3752, she was very proud of her service. Andrea chaired many fund raising activities. She volunteered for 26 years for the VFW Post Friday night Dinners, hosted and chaired Disabled Veteran's luncheons for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, Children's Holiday parties for the children and grandchildren of the VFW members, disabled and special needs children throughout the community.
Andrea loved spending her free time with friends and family, traveling to Stateline, Laughlin, Las Vegas, and every Casino she could find. Visiting her sister in San Diego and Brother In Hemet, California. Among her favorite trips, were her pilgrimages to the Shrine of St. Jude in San Francisco, California to pray for spiritual guidance, Hope, health and Peace. May Andrea Rest In Peace. She will be missed by all.
Memorial Service to be held on Sunday July 30, 6pm, Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuary, 6338 Greenleaf Ave. Whittier.
