WOODINGTON, Beatrice "Fritzi"

Graveside services for Beatrice "Fritzi" Woodington, 90, will be 1:00pm, June 11, 2018, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. Fritzi died June 1, 2018, of complications due to Alzheimer's. Fritzi was born Beatrice Wilhelmina Herman in Southgate, CA. She lived at the Regency Grand in West Covina for the past twelve years. Fritzi and her husband, Chuck, raised three sons (Bob, Tom, and Tim) in Whittier, CA, where they lived for over 50 years.
Fritzi loved to sing and play the piano and could play multitudes of show tunes by memory. She loved performing and acted and sang in many local community theater productions. Fritzi was also a cellist and starred as comedian Puella Pulchra with her cello and wearing a rubber swim fin; she appeared on the Carol Burnett Show, The Smothers Brothers, Johnny Carson Tonight show, The Gong Show, and was a regular on KFI's Lohman and Barkley radio show.
Fritzi was quick witted, could knit anything out of yarn (including animals for her grandchildren), and loved her flower gardens.
She is survived by one son, Timothy (Cathleen) and his children, Alexandra and Henry, of Glendora, CA. Three additional granddaughters reside in Oakhurst, CA: Melissa Zamorano (Brian) with son Tahoe, Jessica, and Samantha Chu (Alex).
