April 29, 1934 - December 24, 2020 Leta J. Ross was born on April 29, 1934 the third child of Leo and Velva Ross, in Nicodemus, Kansas. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the First Baptist Church. Leta spent many hours of hard work in the family farm where she developed strong work ethics. She learned to cook from scratch working beside her mother in her cafe. Leta was known by many names, Jan, Gen, Jenny Penny, Janet, Janice, Leta and Granny (her favorite honor). After graduating Bogue High School she moved to Topeka, Kansas where she met and married Edward Ross and became stepmother to Bernetta Wilson. Leta received her Bachelors Degree from La Verne University. She leaves to cherish her memory, Bernetta, a devoted daughter; granddaughter, Tisa; grandson Kahlu; great granddaughters Tiphini, Kalun, and Kalea; great great grandson, Andre. Brothers Wayman (Helen) Williams, Zetta Gholar (Donald), Rolland Williams Sr., and Aunt LeeAnna McMurray. A viewing will be held at Woods Valentine Mortuary in Pasadena on Monday, January 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Due to Covid, graveside services will be held for immediate family only.
