MORGAN, Mary Lou

Mary Lou Morgan passed away on July 25, 2017.
Mary Lou was born on September 9, 1928, in Hannibal, Missouri. Born to Howard and Nadine Cole, she had an older brother, Bill, and an older sister, Betty. They moved to South Gate, CA when Mary Lou was 11 years old. She attended Huntington Park High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Vernon. They were married in 1947, and moved their then small family to Pico Rivera, CA in 1957. While Vernon worked outside of the home, Mary Lou not only raised her 9 children, but she also provided day care to many other children.
She loved and served her church, St Mariana de Paredes, teaching Catechism, volunteering in the Women's Guild, and singing in her beloved choir. For years, she served the less fortunate, by collecting food and cooking for the homeless and women's shelters. She gave back to her community with love and compassion, just as her model, Mother Teresa, in her service to others. She was the embodiment of unconditional love, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mary Lou was married to Vernon for almost 64 years, when he passed away on August 6, 2011. She is survived by her nine children: Jeff, Chris, Nancy, Steve, Eileen, Vicki, Diane, Dave, Dennis, plus 21 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren.
Memorial service to be held at St. Mariana de Paredes Catholic Church at 7930 Passons Blvd., Pico Rivera, CA 90660, on August 24, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., with reception following.
