Kathy, Kim, and Kara,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is my loss too. He was one of my best friends. One who could talk to me and make me feel great! Even in his last days, his outstanding smile made me smile. Being with him, remembering his great stories, and holding his hand, will live forever in my memories. Love to all of you.

To the family of Dr. Cardiff, Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband and dad. As has been mentioned often in the tributes here, he was a very kind man. Having gone to him in desperation, he comforted me and sent me home feeling hopeful. No easy thing to do with a dental patient whose mouth has been a source of pain and humiliation since I was thirteen. I have had many dental experiences as a "welfare kid" in the 60's, nearly all terrible, Dr. Cardiff's compassionate understanding of this state of mind will be will remembered, with gratitude, by me always. He raised the bar of my expectations. May God bless him and you, his family.

I am stunned to learn of Dick's passing having just seen the announcement in the BU newsletter. Although I never really had a chance to know him well, I would see him in the corridors of the dental school always with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye as we exchanged pleasantries. Certainly this world was better for having had him even for so short a time. My condolences to the entire family.

Dear Kathy, Kim and Kara,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have so many amazing memories of Dick that will be with me my whole life. My first Giants playoff game was with Dick, Uncle Joe and Chris. It was a freezing game in NJ and we drank brandy and laugh and enjoyed a great game. I will never forget it. I will also remember him taking my Dad and Uncle Squarie out in his plane, it was such a fun day. I also will never forget my wedding when we dance, drank and laugh the whole night long. He was such fun & brilliant man. I am honored to have him as a part of my life. We love you all.

To the Cardiff Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss.

Dr. Cardiff was so very kind to me. He didn't know it but he changed my life by giving me my smile back...and just in time for my college yearbook picture. To me he will always remain the "gold standard" of dentistry. His work was second to none, and his profession has lost its champion.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you at such a difficult time.

Kathy, Kim, Kara, (and extended family),
We were as close as any friends could be, we always joked we were almost cousins.( Aunt Margie, was married to Uncle Tony... ) It was such a pleasure to share life with Kathy and Dick, their laughter, their easy going ways, their plunge in and help when ever we had other friends along. It is a tremendous loss for those of us who loved Dick, he was a magnificent person. Where ever we go, what ever we do, he will always be in our hearts and minds. Our sadness can only be lightened by belief that life is everlasting and that we will all meet again. Madlyn and Howard Fafard
