Jason Miller of East Bridgewater, passed away on May 30, 2020 at the age of 76. He was the most beloved husband of his bride Ellen (McGahan) Miller for 42 years. Jason retired as a Sergeant for the Brockton Police Department. He belonged to the Satucket Pistol Club and was a true marksman when it came to shooting. He was proud to be a 32nd degree "Shriner" and brother Mason at the Wampatuck Lodge in Hanson, Mass. Jason was most honored to be a member at the American Legion Post 9 in East Bridgewater and to have served our country in the United States Air Force, and was a lifelong member of Shomrim Society of Massachusetts. He was an adventurous soul who loved to travel, especially cruising with his wife and was an avid sci-fi aficionado. He especially loved Star Trek and Star Wars -a famous line he used to say was "Beam me up Scotty!" Jason could be found on the dance floor enjoying ballroom dancing (South Shore Dancers). Even with his walker, he could not be stopped from having a good time -and of course spinning Ellen around with his ballroom dance moves. He was a special person that really took on the meaning of life in such a positive light. He was a kind and loving gentleman to those he knew, and to whomever he met along his journey in this life. Jason is also survived by his children Marci Dacey (husband Scott), Sherri Miller, and Adam Miller (wife Sue). He was the loving brother of Diane Keefe (Jim) of North Carolina and Elaine Carpman (Ed) of Stoughton, and brother-in-law to John and his wife Susan Lentini. He was the devoted grandfather to Savannah, Gregory, Hannah, Paige and David; and great-grandfather to Jarrod. He is also survived by a long enduring list of loving friends whom he cared for very much. And he leaves his very special kitty cat, Callie, who never left his side. Jason lived each day to the fullest. Like Yoda, from Star Wars said at the time of his death "Twilight is upon me, and soon night must fall. That is the way of things". So, Jason did "live long and he prospered" and brought much happiness into so many lives and his wife Ellen wishes peace to be with him on this his final voyage, and rest easy in knowing that his legacy will live on. Funeral services will be private. Interment will take place at Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Jason's memory may be made to, My Brothers Keeper at PO Box 338, Easton, MA 02356|0338 or https://mybrotherskeeperinc.net/donate/. Farley Funeral Home (781)344-2676

Every Xmas Eve I would call my children to listen to the police scanner because Jason was about to do his thing and put smiles on their faces. Jason was the Brockton Police dispatcher and here he was at his finest:
Not only were my children, myself, Brockton residents and the surrounding towns waiting in anticipation of Jason's once a year broadcast. And here it is:
This is a G.B.C. Stop and hold: All cruisers be on the lookout for an unregistered sleigh, color red, being pulled by the reindeer gang - the leader of which has a bright red nose and goes by the name of Rudy.
The sleigh is reported to have one male operator described as being heavy set, having a red nose, rosy cheeks and a full beard which is Snow White. This subject is wearing a red and white fur hat and a red suit with white fur trim.
The vehicle in question has a number of large bags in the rear believed to be contraband from multiple B&E's done by the operator. His method of operation is scaling rooftops and entrance is gained through the chimneys. This subject is believed to be confused as he brings items into the homes and stuffs them into stockings hung by the mantle with care.
The subject was last seen flying over the City of Brockton in the company of some little people known as elves. All cruisers are advised to approach with caution as the wanted subject, who goes by the alias of Jolly Saint Nick, is reported to be the carrier of a very infectious disease known to cause uncontrollable happiness.
Well! This was Jason Miller a man of smiles and laughs. As he was given this broadcast out no-one had a bigger smile on his face than Jason.
Rest In Peace Jason

Sgt. Miller,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served with the USAF and later for the citizens of Brockton when you served with the Brockton PD. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Jason was a very upbeat and positive man. No matter what physical challenges he was facing, and he faced much more than his share of those, when you asked Jason how he was doing his reply was always "Living the dream". There was not a hint of sarcasm in that response; Jason truly felt that his life was a dream come true. The love that he and Ellen shared was a deep and abiding love, and it was always evident that they were crazy about each other. We are so grateful for Jason's service to our country and for the countless hours of volunteer work he did over the years. He was truly a very special man.

Jason was a recent addition to Wampatuck Lodge of Masons, and he will be sorely missed. Enjoyed many dinner stories with our Brother, about local happenings in Stoughton and Brockton, and his times at BPD. Always ready to stretch forth a helping hand, his passing will affect us for a long while.
