Judith A. (Lollis) Cope of Sudbury, MA and Marion, MA passed away on July 5th, 2017 following a stroke. For 50 years she was the cherished wife of the late Anthony T. Cope (Tony) and the mother of Peter (Leslie) and grandchildren Trevor, Ryan, and Megan of Sudbury, MA, Edward (Elizabeth) and grandchildren Jeremy and Lilia of Denver, CO, Andrew (Lisa) and grandchildren David and Thomas of Menlo Park, CA, Stephanie Donohue (John) and grandchildren Samuel, Whitney, and John Thomas of Potomac, MD. Judy was born in Brockton, MA in 1940, the daughter of Edward and Kathlyn Lollis and the sister of Maureen (Lollis) Nelson of Norwell, MA. She attended Lexington High School and Vermont College. After her schooling, she moved to London, England where she met her future husband Tony. They married in Lexington, MA and raised a family in Sudbury. Judy was an active volunteer leader for a variety of environmental and nature conservation causes, and she was highly involved with the many organizations in which her children participated. She proudly served as a member of the Sudbury Board of Selectman, working hard to protect the towns natural resources from overdevelopment. Judy loved animals and spending leisure time outdoors in a variety of activities such as tennis, golf, skiing or anything her grandchildren enjoyed. She adored a variety of family pets including dogs, cats, a bird and her beloved horse Blu. A private family service is planned to honor her life.
