Betty A. (Means) Willis, age 80, of Norton, passed away in the presence of her loving family on Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer C. Tippy Willis, Jr. to whom she was wed for fifty years at the time of his death on September 16, 2009. Born in Brockton on August 1, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Elsie (Foster) Means. She grew up in Whitman and was a 1951 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. Mrs. Willis was a lover of flowers and family and having good times with her many friends. Along with her late husband and friends, having breakfast out every morning was her greatest way to start the day. She was a member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton and liked taking trips with the senior citizens. Betty especially loved trips to Plymouth and beautiful ocean sceneries. She is survived by her devoted sons, E. Tippy Willis III and his wife Paula of Norton and Kevin L. Willis and his wife Catherine of Easton. She was the dear sister of the late Edward Means, Alice Means and Helen Shay. She was the cherished grandmother of Melissa, Stacy, Jennifer and Michelle, and is also survived by 7 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends were cordially invited to attend, was held on Saturday, November 30th from 4-7 p.m. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. A private graveside service was held at the convenience of her family in the Seeley Cemetery in Easton.
