John G. Talcott Jr. age 105, of Boca Raton, FL and Plymouth, MA, John passed away at his home in Plymouth on May 27. He was born in Talcottville, CT. John leaves his son John G. Talcott III of Talcottville his daughter Rosemary Parks of Plymouth, seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was the husband of the late Katherine (Scott) and Rosalin (Voshell). John was educated at Deerfield Academy and Yale University. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in Over Seas Supply Division. He served on the Vernon CT Board of Education and as Deputy Fire Chief of Co. #3. He was an Incorporator and Trustee of Springfield College. John was the former President of the Massachusetts Society for Aiding Discharged Prisoners, a founding member of the Intercessors of America. John served on many boards, and committees, and was a member of many organizations in Plymouth, MA. Some of them where the Pilgrim Society, the 350th Celebration Commission, the Old Colony Club, Mayflower Descendents, Director of Ocean Spray Cranberry Co. and Founder of the Plymouth Rock Foundation. A private family service was held for John and he was buried in the family lot in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Talcottville, CT. A Public Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 21, at 6:00 PM, at the NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH. 1120 Long Pond Road in Plymouth, MA.
