Barbara J. Winning Obituary
Barbara Jean Winning formerly of North Andover, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at her daughters home in Lincoln, NH. Jean was born in Lawrence, MA on March 22, 1927 and lived nearly her entire life in North Andover, MA. She most recently resided with her son and daughter-in-law in Ips- wich, MA. She was the daughter of John and Hilda (Dickson) Gordon and was married to the late Richard D. Winning in 1951. Jean attended Johnson High School, Class of 1944, as well as McIntosh Business School and Boston University. She worked for many years at Davis & Furber Machine Company, North Andover, Butcher Boy Restaurant in North Andover and for Jane A Thompson, MD until her re- tirement. Jean loved spending time with her family and her pets. She also enjoyed traveling, dancing and gardening. She is survived by her older brother Col. John D. Gordon of Vero Beach, FL; son James K. Winning and his wife Carol (Rokes) Winning of Ipswich, MA, daughter Donna J. Tombarelli and her partner Amy Swift of Lincoln, NH, Stephen D. Tombarelli and his wife Sharon of Acton, ME; five grandchildren James R. Winning and his wife Michelle of Bedford, NH, Andrea L. Imlach and her husband Christopher of Rowley, MA, Jillian M. Smith and her husband Joshua of Amherst, NH, Richard G. Tombarelli of Newton, MA and Stephen J. Tombarelli of Lincoln, NH; six great grandchildren Samuel G. Imlach and Benjamin G. Imlach of Rowley, MA, Danielle Jean Winning and Colleen R. Winning of Bedford, NH, and Emily M. Smith and Olivia Jean Smith of Amherst, NH; many nieces and nephews and several grand and great granddogs. She was predeceased by her younger brother Lt Col Robert J. Gordon. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday 10 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, North Andover MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Great Dog Rescue New England at www.gdrne.com/donate.
