Jess W. Gullett, 9/28/1929–2/13,2017, died Monday, February 13, 2017, in Sonoma, California.
At the age of 90, Jess has been given his wings into the kingdom of heaven to join his two sons, Douglas and Bruce. Jess leaves behind his wife Wilma ("the love of his life"); his daughter, Nelda (Gullett) Nordin of Santa Rosa, CA, five grandchildren; Boe and Eric Nordin of Santa Rosa, CA, Toni (Gullett) Mabray, of Greenwood, CA, Josh and Kelsey Gullett of Laytonville, CA, six great grandchildren: Devin and Deric Nordin and Miles Brown of Santa Rosa, CA, Erika, Deseree and Caleb Mabray of Greenwood, CA; one great, great granddaughter; Tori Lynn Nordin of Lower Lake, CA, and many close friends.
Jess was a lifelong resident of Laytonville, California. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, on December 24, 1946, he married Wilma Colleen Snider and they recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.

In his early life, Jess worked in the logging industry, excelling at various skills. In 1972 he began his own business, Jess Gullett Logging, of Laytonville, CA. During this time he joined the Association of California Loggers and was voted President in 1981.

Throughout his life, Jess was known for his mischievous grin. That grin was never bigger or brighter than when he was lending a helping hand to his family and friends. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.
Memorial services at the Laytonville Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
