Harer, Cora Mae Anderson

Cora Mae Anderson Harer, The Dalles, OR, died December 7, 2012.

Born June 8, 1919, in Stevens Point, WI, daughter of Morris and Julia Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles L. Harer; her parents; her sisters, Jane Walch and Dorothy Gilbert; and her brothers, Ralph J. Anderson and Morris P. Anderson.

Her survivors include her four sons and their spouses, William T. Mailer of Willow, Alaska; John A. Murat of Pooler, GA; Michael C. Murat of The Dalles, OR; and Steven P. Murat of Bethel, Alaska; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs Harer graduated from Wisconsin State University, Stevens Point in 1941. She also acquired a degree from Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire as a teacher of Special Education. She taught for 30 years, including Nekoosa WI from 1961 to 1976. She retired in 1976.

Cora Mae (Corey) Anderson Harer was married to Charles for 17 years and spent most of that time in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. After his death, she moved to The Dalles, OR in 1995. Corey enjoyed gardening, birds, grandson's sports and sending cards to family and friends. She was a member of Gateway Presbyterian Church. Gifts may be given to Gateway Presbyterian Church, 1111 Dry Hollow Rd, The Dalles OR 97058, in her memory.

Ashes will be placed at the grave site at Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point WI, with a private graveside service this summer.
